Map to Mt. Tamalpais

This site is controlled by the Bay Area Paragliding Association, please only fly here if you have contacted BAPA, and have a sticker or sponsorhip to fly. Mt. Tam requires a P4 rating or 5 sponsored flights on 5 different days with a the P3 sponsorship program. I am a Mt. Tam sponsor, please feel free to ask about being sponsored. From 101 Heading South or North:

  • Take the E. Blithedale / Mill Valley Exit

  • E BLITHEDALE AVE 0.9

  • Turn Left at the forth stoplight onto Camino Alto (Gas Station on left) (go about 1/2 mile)

  • Turn Right onto Miller Ave (Safeway will be on right) (go about 1 mile)
    "From here there should be signs noting route to Mt. Tam"

  • Turn Left on MONTFORD AVE 0.2

  • Turn Right on MOLINO AVE 0.4

  • Continue on EDGEWOOD AVE 0.7

  • It will turn into SEQUOIA VALLEY RD 0.7

  • Turn Right on PANORAMIC HWY 0.9

  • Continue up Panoramic Highway till you get to the highest point. Turn Left into Pantoll Station Parking Area. "This is a common meeting place"

If you missed your meeting time, then you can continue up the mountain to the launch points and try to find me there.

From Pantoll Parking area:

  • Cross the Panoramic Hwy and go up the road that goes to the top of the mountain (Go up about 2 miles or so)

  • Turn Left - About 2 or so miles up, there will be a split, the left goes to Bolinas Ridge "There are 3 launches. Primarily, I use the 2nd, but occasionally use the 1st if the winds are from the South"

  • The first Launch is about 1/2 mile after you turned left (A paved pullout/parking area on the left side)

  • The second is about 400 yards further (A Paved pullout/parking on the right side and also the first views where you can see the ocean)
